#HackCorona is a hackathon dedicated to IT projects, with the goal of aiding small and medium-sized businesses in Ukraine by creating solutions to combat and alleviate the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Project goal
The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine launched the hackathon during the 2020 pandemic. This national competition aimed to unite developers, startups, marketers, researchers, and public activists to innovate and create socially impactful technologies. Specifically, the focus was on medical solutions, e-services, reviving digital enterprises, and supporting vulnerable groups during quarantine.
Overall, the #HackCorona initiative attracted over 800 participants, with 22 making it to the finals. Sergiy Tokarev, serving on the competition jury, bolstered the prize fund by one million hryvnias, providing increased opportunities to finance and implement socially significant solutions during the pandemic.
